the beginning

  • Born in 1859, great-grandfather Joseph Malinge trained with a clog manufacturer in Choletais. A region particularly known for textile and footwear activities.
    Falling under the spell of the boss's daughter, he decided to marry her.

  • In 1889, he took over the workshop. This was the beginning of a profession of passion.

  • He passed on his manufacturing secret to his son Joseph , who over time devoted himself to shoemaking and the manual manufacture of shoes.

  • Recognized in the region for the solidity, finish and good fit of his shoes , he offered his designs on markets and among traders.

A new era,
the high end

  • Trained under an artisan known for his custom and handmade boot designs , Joseph Malinge became the third generation of shoe makers.

  • He took over the company in 1954 and specialized in the manufacture of custom-made men's shoes .

1986

The tradition,
at the heart of modernity

  • The company “ Shoes Leather Michigan ” was founded in 1986, in Chanteloup-les-Bois.

    Then only 24 years old, Joseph and his twin sister Chantal took over the family heritage and quality know-how together.

  • It is located in a workshop in Choletais that Joseph and Chantal make all of their shoes.

    In view of this 4th generation of Joseph Malinge , the models are today, quite naturally, marketed under this name.

The know-how

A high-value shoe requires rare skills and know-how. We then carefully select our leather skins like our ancestor chose his trees.
This respect for tradition gives the shoes solidity and character.

Know the quality

The machines used to design your shoes have survived the ages.

So old that they can only be found, in several copies, in our workshop in La Tourlandy. In fact, certain spare parts have become very rare, or even impossible to find.
Each machine is specific and requires careful adjustment in order to obtain the best possible result and excellent quality. The luxury shoe requires 300 special operations. A real knowledge of these mechanisms is therefore essential to this manufacturing.
